Information for Instructors

All ´ºÔÂÖ±²¥ Community College Instructors need to submit their course testing request(s) to the ´ºÔÂÖ±²¥ CC Testing Center 7 business days or more prior to planned exam date to honccdet-l@lists.hawaii.edu. All test requests will be limited to a maximum time limit of less than 2 hours during the semester and not more than 3 hours for Final Exams ONLY. All ´ºÔÂÖ±²¥ CC Instructors that are interested in using our testing services are strongly encouraged to contact the testing center at honccdet-l@lists.hawaii.edu or call 808-845-9130 during posted operational hours for more details, protocols, procedures, and test request forms.

* Please note that all testing administrations are by assigned appointments only with no walk ins. Also, testing services for fully online Distance Education Courses will be for individual make-up testing only. There will be no test proctoring option for fully online Distance Education Courses.

** For individual make-up testing services, please contact the ´ºÔÂÖ±²¥ Community College Testing Center (honccdet-l@lists.hawaii.edu or 808-845-9130) as test request submittals and student test appointment scheduling will be done directly in coordination with you and the testing center.  Instructors, please contact the testing center for more information.

Information for Students

Before you try to reserve a test date and appointment time, please check with your instructor that a test request has been submitted and received by the ´ºÔÂÖ±²¥ CC Testing Center. No student reservations will be confirmed until instructors¡¯ test requests are verified and confirmed.

Appointments by students will need to be made 5 ¨C 10 business days in advance of planned test date and time. No reservations can be made after 5 business days prior to intended test date. No student appointments will be made or reserved until we have received and verified the test request form from the student¡¯s instructor. All academic testing appointments must be made through and confirmed by the ´ºÔÂÖ±²¥ Community College Testing Center and limited by daily seating availability and non-academic testing contractual obligations.

** Students, please note that all individual student make-up test appointments will be scheduled through your instructor in coordination with the ´ºÔÂÖ±²¥ Community College Testing Center.  The ´ºÔÂÖ±²¥ Community College Testing Center will contact you directly after it has received a make-up test request from your instructor and coordinated a test appointment date and time for you.

Daily Academic Intake Testing Times

Testing intake start times for daily academic testing with time limits less than 2 hours will be offered as follows:

• Mondays: 8:15 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
• Tuesdays: 1:30 p.m.- 3:30 p.m.
• Wednesdays ¨C Thursdays: 8:15 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
• Fridays: There will be no UH System academic testing appointment scheduling for Fridays.

• Mondays: 8:15 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
• Tuesdays: 1:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.

Schedule a UH System Academic Testing Appointment

To schedule an academic test appointment, please E-mail honccdet-l@lists.hawaii.edu with the following information:

7. Your planned test date & start time. (Please keep in mind that due to limited seating. All testing appointment reservations are based on pre-approved and confirmed appointment requests by testing center staff only. If your requested test date and intake/start time are full or not available, the testing center staff will contact you as soon as possible to let you know and pick an alternate test date and intake/start time)

** Please note that for all individual make-up test appointments, students cannot schedule their own make-up test appointment date and time.  All individual make-up test appointments will be made through the student¡¯s instructor and the testing center.  Students will be contacted by the ´ºÔÂÖ±²¥ Community College Testing Center to inform them of their assigned appointment date and time.

To check in for your in-person testing appointment, please report to the ´ºÔÂÖ±²¥ CC Testing Center (Building 7, 3rd floor, Room 313) 15 minutes or more prior to your scheduled appointment. Please remember that all test appointments are pre-scheduled and must be confirmed by the ´ºÔÂÖ±²¥ Community College Testing Center Staff. Please note that if you are late in reporting to the testing center for your pre-approved and confirmed test appointment date and start time, your test appointment may have to be re-scheduled for another day.

Placement Testing

In-person Accuplacer Placement Testing is available by assigned appointment only Monday through Thursday for ´ºÔÂÖ±²¥ CC Home Campus students only.

Placement

´ºÔÂÖ±²¥ CC uses a variety of ways to check student¡¯s skill levels in English and Math to ensure students will be placed in the right level classes. There are alternative placement methods available. Another option is to take the Accuplacer test. Accuplacer tests will assess your skill levels in reading, writing, and math to determine if you¡¯re ready to take courses that will earn you credits at that school. If you show proficiency in a subject, you won¡¯t have to take developmental courses and can start earning credits right away that count toward a degree or certificate.

Schedule a Placement Testing Appointment

To Schedule a placement test, please contact the ´ºÔÂÖ±²¥ CC Testing Center by e-mail at honccdet-l@lists.hawaii.edu. In the e-mail, please include the following information to begin the process of determining and setting up your placement test appointment/option:

Accuplacer Placement Re-Test

Accuplacer Placement Re-Test available by assigned appointment only.

If you are planning on re-taking the Accuplacer Placement Test and your Accuplacer Placement Test Scores are within the 2 year valid test range from the time you last took the Accuplacer Placement Test, there will be a $25.00 retest fee and you must contact a ´ºÔÂÖ±²¥ CC Academic Counselor to get a ´ºÔÂÖ±²¥ CC Accuplacer Placement Test Referral at honcouns@hawaii.edu or (808) 845-9162.

Once you have received a completed ´ºÔÂÖ±²¥ CC Accuplacer Placement Test Referral from the ´ºÔÂÖ±²¥ CC Academic Counselor and have completed payment of the $25.00 retest fee at the ´ºÔÂÖ±²¥ CC Business Office, you must e-mail the ´ºÔÂÖ±²¥ CC Testing Center at honccdet-l@lists.hawaii.edu with a copy of your completed ´ºÔÂÖ±²¥ CC Accuplacer Placement Test Referral Form and a copy of your receipt of payment from the ´ºÔÂÖ±²¥ CC Business Office for the $25.00 Accuplacer Retest Fee. At that point, the ´ºÔÂÖ±²¥ CC Testing Center will contact you and schedule an in-person Accuplacer Test Appointment.

How do I schedule a test with Pearson VUE?

Visit and select the relevant test program from the Test Taker Services section. Next, select ¡®Schedule a Test¡¯ on the right-hand side of the page and complete the necessary fields. Upon confirming the booking, you will receive a confirmation e-mail from Pearson VUE. If our location does not appear for a selected date, testing is not available for that day.

Not all exams can be proctored at The Learning Center. When searching for a testing center, if our location does not appear, we will are unable to proctor that particular exam.

How do I reschedule a test?

Visit and select the relevant test program from the Test Taker Services section. Once you have chosen your test program, select ¡®Reschedule a Test¡¯ on the right- hand side and complete the necessary fields.

How do I cancel a test?

Visit and select your test program from the Test Taker Services section. Once you have chosen your testing program, select ¡®Cancel a Test¡¯ on the right- hand side and complete the necessary fields.

What happens if I forget my Pearson VUE username and/or password?

Click on the sign-in page relevant to your program at and select either ¡®I forgot my username¡¯ or ¡®I forgot my password¡¯. Provide the details required and you will then be able to recover your username and/or reset your password.

What if I have a problem?

You can call Pearson VUE¡¯s customer service center by going to and choosing your relevant program and region.

How early should I arrive at the test center on the day of my test?

Typically, you are asked to arrive 15-30 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time. This will give you an opportunity to check-in and relax prior to beginning your test. The amount of time you are asked to arrive at the center before your scheduled appointment time differs for each program. You will receive a confirmation email with program-specific information.

What happens when I arrive to take an exam?

When candidates arrive for an exam, they go through a standard admissions process. Candidates are asked to provide two forms of identification, to agree in writing to a set of exam rules and to sign a log sheet. In most cases, your photo and signature will be digitally captured as they would appear on your results report. Some exam sponsors may have other identification or check-in requirements. What ID do I need to bring to the test?

Typically, you are asked to bring two forms of identification, including one government-issued photo identification. Some test programs may have additional requirements. The items you are asked to bring differs for each test program. You will receive a confirmation email with program-specific information.
